What Our Client Says

My two kids Ian and Johann are taking chess lesson at school. At the beginning one of them almost quit. But with the help and good advice from the coach Pushpine, he was able to recover his confidence and now both kids enjoy their class. Both feel proud of their very own achivement.

Liliana Rejon

In a world of electronic games Pushpini has managed to engage my 7 year old son Jackson and my 6 year old son Noah with chess. Both boys love to play and the credit for that goes to Pushpini and Chess Emperor – well done!!

Mike Purves

Since Marky joined the chess club last term, He is enjoying chess very much. It also has built up his confidence. Thank you Miss Pushpini for your wonderful job

Did you know that since turning 30 on November 30, Magnus Carlsen has won and lost the same amount of games? Norwegian newspaper VG called it a "30-year crisis" for the world's #1 player.

It all started with Wesley So defeating the world champion in the final of Skilling Open on Carlsen's birthday. At the end of 2020, Magnus played two more online events that he did not win: 2020 Speed Chess Championship and Airthings Masters on Chess24. The world champion has expressed his dissatisfaction with his playing form on several occasions now. After being eliminated from Airthings Masters by Dubov, Carlsen wrote: "...the bottom line is that I'm in a deep funk right now, and it's really frustrating".

Currently, he is in Wijk aan Zee for the over-the-board Tata Steel Masters. Since his last birthday, the world champion won 22 games, lost 22, and drew 26. Beating Nils Grandelius in round 9 of Tata Steel Chess was the moment when he broke even.

There are three more rounds left in Wijk aan Zee. Carlsen's opponents are Giri, Wojtaszek, and Vachier-Lagrave. Do you think that after a final free day at this event, we may see a comeback of the champion?

In this picture, made during Tal Memorial 2013, 11-year-old Andrey Esipenko is standing next to the soon-to-be world champion Magnus Carlsen.

Today, almost 8 years later, Esipenko defeated Carlsen in Tata Steel Chess Masters and called it one of the best days in his life:
